When a beautiful light such as the amazing Whitney Houston is suddenly extinguished....one can't help but ponder this journey.....we're all connected! Rest in peace, beautiful lady!

Poem Artwork

There are endless paths to choose,
And there is no map, no charted course.
Life is a journey we’re all taking together!
Side by side, though we rarely take notice
Of who’s standing right next to us,
We’re all heading in the same direction
To a place no one’s ever seen!

Day by day, we’re racing toward that place
Mindless of what surrounds us
Tripping over each other along the way!
Roses are still blooming
But we’ve forgotten how beautiful their scent!
Rainbows, sunsets, meadows, even children…
Life’s greatest gifts, most often taken for granted!

Kings, queens, beggars, thieves,
Our souls all look the same!
We are no more and no less
Than those who walk beside us!
In life, our own importance drives us,
But at the end of the journey
Will we really matter? Will anyone remember?

Beyond the sunset, lies the door to infinity!
And no matter what we collect along the way
We’ll take nothing with us through that door.
What we had won’t matter a rodent’s rump!
Who we were will mean everything!
For when stripped of the earth from whence we came…
All that remains is dust!

IF WE COULD JUST KEEP THIS PROFOUND MESSAGE IN MIND...THEN SO MUCH OF THE 'STRESS' OF LIVING WOULD BE ELIMINATED. WELL DONE, ANNABEL AND ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...

"For when stripped of the earth from whence we came... all that remains is dust!" Spoken from the beautiful heart of wisdom that we have all seen in your works of excellence. Powerful thoughts flow from your quill of knowledge.

Dear Annabel,

Wonderful thoughts in poetic form. We are only human super star or box car. We all are on the same journey and God has a special purpose for all of us. God Bless You!

I'm eating celery sticks for lunch instead of hamburgers these days. That way my dust won't be so greasy. Patrick

You are so right. Whether we live long or short, what matters is what we leave behind. Did we take the time to be brilliant and shine, or did we spend our precious days on the treadmill to oblivion. Whitney, Michael, Amy, Marilyn, Elvis, Buddy, Jimmie, Janice and so many others took the brighter path and can we blame them for it?

what a beautiful tribute for her...words can never take away the feelings of those left behind who were entranced with her, but as you say our life only matters when we are aware and we care...the person inside is all that matters...not the exterior
loved you words
hugs dear lady

Beautiful voice, beatuiful head, fantastic body, troubled mind. What a waste!!! Where were her advisors? her handlers?

Sorry, I got a little wound up there. This says it all Anna, Nicely done. Dick

What a shock that was on Sunday evening. What a waste! How many talented people must we lose due to drugs or self over medicating. Deaths such as this always makes me wonder why those that seem to have the world by the balls kill themselves by doing and using what they shouldn't.
As always, sweet lady, a wonderful poem

I am very happy the family did not want to make a extravaganza out of her funeral. I am very glad the family did not want to have a wake. Whitney was a troubled person and she died because of that trouble. A beautiful woman who sung songs that made us all very glad she did, is gone now. Maybe she can, at last, find peace.

I think many will remember her, for a very long time.
