My Tears
My tears never brand me as a squirt
The salty drops they flood my aching heart
And then caress the wounds that won’t depart
To cleanse the soul from the binding hurt
My tears glisten like the morning dew
The salty drops caress my face of sorrow
And soak the feathered pillow of tomorrow
So I may once again awake refreshed, anew

Crying is an honest emotion and certainly does have some therapeutic value for overcoming fear or loss. While we tend to want to "hold back" the tears consciously, the unconscious often takes over and seems to provide relief from great sorrow. When we are very young, we tend to cry when we're angry. For most of us, that goes away with maturity. But we still cry. Even the most denier will cry. It's only a matter of what triggers it.
I too believe that tears are most therapeutic. I ought to know. They are also very symbolic and indicative of sensitivity and much more. Love and best wishes to you, Lena.
I tend to agree with you that tears, along with the trauma inside you which brings the tears on, will definitely cleanse you and has a tendency of allowing you to emerge as a different person, having leaned a valuable lesson.
