Poem Artwork

When I close my eyes and really hear the sounds around me
I know that things are not always so dark and sad..I can finally see
Just when I think things can't go wrong, something happens and it does
Do I give up or do I feel helpless that I don't do it just because
No, not me; I always get up even if I'm drowning, because I believe in me
Life is funny, it is sad, it has tragedy, and it has triumphs
When I am happy life is full and seems to radiate, vibrate loud like a trumpet
Am I pretty or am I ugly, it depends on the beholder, especially now that I am older
When I see who I am, I see goodness and caring, kindness and spunk,
I am bolder
We all have only one life, and I'm living mine...fuller, and fuller, and fuller!

I like this poem. Brought to mind a poem I read by a new male author, cannot remember name of poem or author's name. It was about heaven and someone with M.S. and another was ill and that they had to bear with their burden til the Lord was ready for them. I wish I could pull up that poem again. I did not save it, wish I had. Maybe' i'll be guided to it again. It was about death, but for the life of me cannot remember the title or who wrote it. Frustrates me I did not save it.

I love the photo which is attached to your work. I can relate to this piece, as I have felt the same way at times in my life. A full life means experiencing love, laughter, sadness, loss, tragedy, celebrations, growth, and pain. It is all of these things that makes us "whole" and constitutes a full life. I love the ending, where you said, "I have only one life, and I'm living mine, fuller and fuller!" That shows that you are strong and that no matter what sadness you may have felt, you have the determination to face each day, and enjoy all of the seasons of life. Stop into my den when you have a chance, and let me know what you think of my work.

I love this poem because you are expressing yourself in a positive way.Individualism at its finest.Sometimes life can throw us a curveball and strike us out,but we need to hit a home run and a grand slam to score in this world and in our lives.Being who you are is better than being something that you're not.Keep up the good work
