Mom was murdered years ago...the pain is fresh, as is her memory! Her children, grandchildren, and all who loved her...keep her alive...within their hearts! We never forget them...

Poem Artwork

Today I was reminded once again about the loss
The ache when one you love so much is gone away
Never to touch, to speak, to smile or look my way
Missing never ends, needing and wanting to see

Time has gone by, while the pain never subsides
One day at a time is how we manage, pretending...
That all is fine, that you are happier and at peace
While we know they are only words to release

Remembering the day you were taken from this place
leaving children and loved ones forlorn and in shock
So that satanic predator who stole your breath
Could hide and breathe waiting to pay the price

The day I forced myself to visit your grave alone
Saw the dirt pile high, as the clouds began to roll
Rain began to fall, and I felt myself drop to touch
the earth that covered you, as the pain screamed

You didn't have to be sacrificied! Oh damn that day!
How can I forgive him... who stole you that way
The sobs filled my chest and beat like the thunder
that was roaring overhead, lightening struck again

Mud on my face, mixed with salty tears, How....
can we live without you while that animal walks
and spreads his disease wherever he breathes...
Then the rain came down in torrents of new life

A Rainbow filled the sky that once was so dark
I heard His voice,  "She's warm and safe my child"
Pressing peace and calm throughout my soul
Trust and Love with kindness, try to understand....

I've never returned...the stone and dirt are tribute
to her memory, so I keep her tucked within my
soul, my heart, and lock her touch in that vault
that no one else can enter... She lives..She lives

I love you mother!

"She Lives " is a fitting title for your poem your Mom never left you as she is always in your heart and in your memories. The pain of loss is showered in each line like rain, when the skies cried at her departure. This poem honors her, Linda.

Beautifully expressed, Linda (as always). Yes, the hole, the dirt, the tombstone is not where your mother lives. She lives, is warm and well, in your heart and in your spirit, and she is closer than you know.

I recieved my copy of "The Visitors" today and am very much looking forward to excellent reading across the next few days. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Linda,
I am so sorry for your loss and the horrific way it happened. I wonder too if I can really forgive the one who killed my daughter--I think I have and yet, like you, when I write of it, it doesn't seem that way. We are only human and some forgiving is really hard--yet has to be done for our own sakes. This is a powerful piece of prose.

Linda,

My HEART goes out to you, believe me I would died if my mother had gone that way. One good thing is, she is safe in GOD'S arms now and one day you will see her again. That is GOD promise and he know all things. So live in her memories that you have storied in your mind knowing that in time you will be with her again.

I send you my PRAYS.......Donnie
