Poem Artwork

I was a quiet child
Very obiedient
But I was also
Very resourceful

When my sister and I
Went to bed
My mother would say
No getting up and no talking

We talked and laughed
Played stagecoach
Made up stupid jokes
Laughing-

We still got up-
One does get thirsty
And has to pee
Blow one's nose

A night came
I decided I did not like
My mother's rules
I was six...

I started
My own crusade
Flinging my boogers
On the wall

At first, it wasn't
Very noticeable
Within two weeks
One could see a pattern

My mother finally noticed
Could not follow my logic
Time to assume the position
Boy did I get a whipping

You deserved it, naughty girl! By the end of the day, the nice clean white handkerchief my mother gave me usually turned a nasty green. I'm sure glad I got rid of those childhood diseases!
