I wrote this poem while living in a small town in Texas. My ex and I lived alone in a trailer and times were very rough, especially considering who I was with at the time. I hope each of my poems are relatable! Please let me know what you think! This is also from, "The Dark Times".

Poem Artwork

Soft curtains laying still,
Darting legends and burning hills.
Hence the carpet,
Laying and bare,
Charred at the corners with solid despair.
Choking a sudden during the fall,
The trees are nigh as the courage is stalled.
Flames and thought brewing together,
Forming a rank higher than others.
Torn out hopes
Rank with sight,
See this world slithering in caked ash,
And darkened blight
From the carpet so burning,
Drenched in soot of many despairs,
Looking through windows that are no longer there.
Burning and turning,
The hope and the hate,
Dousing the flames
With a finality of fate,
And since the carpet is charred and laid,
There the curtains still silently hang,
White and gray,
So still and so soft,
Almost as if…
They too are lost.

Yes! This is fine poetry, Eden. Your verses are worthy of much more than a single reading as there is so much to gather from the symbolism and the emotions that are born from them. Thank you. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis

A trip on the dark side exposes the remnants of the worst of times.

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
