I wrote this poem based on my ex-husband. It always amazed me how incredibly corrupt he could be. This is a poem from my book, "The Dark Times".

You laugh At their petty tries And break the truth With your trusted lies. You fear the ones You love the most And tear the tons Of life to ghost. You hate your loved. Your path is crooked. Fate from above Only knows how wicked. Through your pain You speak to the insane Through your ordained You keep them named. This is what it looks To be worse than them, Juggling monstrous hooks Of Ritalin… The devil himself Stands in those shoes How have they felt— New? Or very used? He watches through such eyes of charm, And speaks through a mouth of lust, Shares in all our evil harm, And laughs with a wealth of trust. He is all, everywhere, He is none, nowhere… But when wearing those red shoes, He is one, within you.
