'with this ring . . . '

Poem Artwork

A circular band of metal

Was suppose to have

had some deep meaning

you know, "To have and

to scold, from this day

play it forward, for worse,

for poorer excuses, not in

sickness, get divorced -

she gets all the wealth,

goodbye love, nothing to

cherish, cause I died inside,

and then you depart, don't

let the door hit you on your

way out, that's right, eyes

forward, don't look back;"

All those years together

she was plotting her attack

Zulued my ass - the horns

of the bull came from both

sides and up the middle

Even if I had seen it coming

I was still a sitting duck; the

only reminder of this hellish

assault is the ghostly dent

left on my wedding finger

She had the bloody nerve

to say, "Don't throw away

your ring; all men throw

their rings away!" And

someday when I see her

I'll tell her I did just to piss

her off; so much for the

inscription inside - was

meant to be there for ever

but when the love ended

so did its meaning; that's

why when I meet the right

person someday, don't

know if I can go through

this again - we'll see . . .

Wow, you are very bitter. Sounds like the problem was really yours and not hers but you aren't man enough to admit it. You did say in your profile that you stayed at home, letting her bring home the bacon, so maybe your bitter that the free ride is gone. Hopefully, you can get rid of all that anger.

Yes you can, if we've learned anything by this election is you can do anything if you set your mind to it. Brave and courageous write.

Love, Bonnie
