Visiting grandkids
Add zest to my life
We feed them and spoil them
Without torment or strife.

But when they get restless
In need of a nap
We return them to mama
Without any flap.

We love the small kiddies
And the things that they do
But they wear us all out
In an hour or two.

Now everything's quiet
It's as still as a tomb
And we miss the wee tykes
That enlivened our room.
