Purgatory’s Prayer

Oh God,
I know you hear the prayers,
Of this humble servant,
Please let me tell you about the
Soul of the man who stands before you;

He was gentle lord,
Good and kind-hearted,
There was much love in his heart,
For his family and friends,
He did his best to walk the true path lord…

It is true he made mistakes,
But he learned from them,
And strove with a courageous heart,
Not to make them again…

He is what you made him lord,
A human man with a heart for goodness,
A need to be courageous in the face of danger,
An overwhelming thirst for love,
Where ever he could find it…

Lord, he tried so hard,
To be what you wanted of him!
To follow the duty instilled him,
By his parents,
By you…

Can you not look into his heart,
And see the beauty of your creation,
Dwelling in a place evil cannot touch?
Can you deny him all he has strived for so much?

Open your heart Lord,
And see the fruit of your labors,
Let this man enter the doors of heaven,
And rest at last upon your golden shores.

An Angel on Earth

Oh my Lord,
This woman is so nice,
With a beautiful heart and soul,
I ask you to respect what she is -
And how she is …

I wish I could see her smiling...
But she loves the darkness...
I wish I could give her your brightness,
Take care of her, my lord.
She is more precious than any gem…

She cares for me so much...
Forgiving my sins and mistakes,
Wishing always good for me,
But I do see her heart;
Longing for true ness and love.
Take care of her, my lord,
She is more precious than a jewel...

She talks too much of death,
Which I hate to hear from her mouth...
Makes me feel I’m nothing in her heart...
But I can feel the pain in her.
What makes her think like that...
Take care of her,
Show her the beauty of life and love…
Take care of her thoughts, my lord,
She is more precious than my life.

Lord,
She lives for her family,
She lives for her kids,
She lives for others,
Only you are there for her -
Take care of her, my lord.
She can bring light into heaven...
Open the door for her, my lord,
What else can I wish for her?
But happiness and peace,
In your forgiving arms…
Accept what you have created,
Back into heaven,
She will brighten your world,
As much as she has brightened mine…

Interesting and heart-tugging interplay and counterpoint between the two "voices", the "He" and the "She", Reindeer, making this a poetic conversation of sorts, showing the innermost faithfulness of each speaker to the other.

Deftly done!

Retta and Sanilnath - I was close to tears just reading these moving accounts and pleas before God, so how you both must have felt actually WRITING them and SHARING them with each other I really don't know: your true feelings must not only be so deep but also deeply shared with each other - a BIG thing! You have, for me, managed to express the inexpressible here - thankyou! Your beauty and honesty shine through KB
