Shadows

Shadows in the corners,
Glancing around,
I see them,
From the corners,
Of my eyes…

Shadows,
In the night,
Echoing in my heart,
Tearing me apart,
Sending me to drift,
In my dreams…

Where I follow,
Where they lead,
To the graveyard
Of broken dreams,
And empty promises,

Here we listen,
To the screams
Of the mourning dead,
Missing the lives,
They once led…

I wake in cold sweat,
My legs weary,
My feet sore,
Scratches on my arms,
And blood on my hands,

And I wonder,
Where I traveled,
In my uneasy sleep…

Shadows,
In the corner,
Waiting for me to dream,
Dare I close my eyes again?

In the end,
I sleep and dream,
And walk with the shadows,
And learn the secrets,
They cannot keep…
