A Weary Hero’s Lament

Dawn breaks,
Finding us at the ruins,
Of this old castle,
I am bone weary,
Have traveled too many days,
Missing the warmth of your touch,
Just want to come home now,
Feeling you so far away,
Missing you so much…

The day wears on,
And dust clogs my throat,
I cannot hear your lovely song,
Nor see the vision of your face,
In my dreams…

I am bone weary,
My heart is so heavy,
I want to come home…
Should I say it aloud?
Cry your name and beat my breast?
The battles which once raged in my heart,
And soothed my anger,
No longer mean what they did,
I am tired of fighting now,
Seek only your warm embrace,
And sweet kisses on my face…

I look upon these ruins,
And see my face carved on the tomb!
Wandering these many years,
Seeking retribution for my rage,

Now I seek only to rest my bones,
And smother my soul in your sweet scent,
I am tired of being alone,
Look for me my sweet love,
I am coming home…
