"OAK (Cold Lonely)" by Gloria Buono-Daly is a soulful R&B ballad about resilience, solitude, and hope. Using the metaphor of a strong yet lonely oak tree weathering the storm, the song explores themes of endurance, growth, and the passage of time. The verses paint a picture of emotional isolation, standing firm despite the weight of hardships.

Poem Artwork

 (Verse 1)

Like a cold, lonely oak, standing in the rain,

Roots run deep, but I still feel the pain.

Winter’s kiss, ice on my skin,

Searchin, tryna find where my soul begins.

(Pre-Chorus 1)

Oh, the seasons change, the rivers run,

But I’m still here, nowhere to run.

Leaves may fall, but I still believe,

Someday the sun will shine for me.

(Chorus 1)

Still, I rise, still, I grow,

Through the storm, through the snow.

Silent roots, deep and true

Reaching for love, reaching for you

(Verse 2)

Time moves on, the world won’t wait,

I stand alone, carry the weight.

Once heard voices, now just the breeze,

Swayin’ like ghosts through empty trees.

(Pre-Chorus 2)

Oh, the seasons change, the rivers run,

Shadows fall, but I’m not done.

Can’t erase the scars I own,

But they remind me I’ve grown.

(Chorus2)

Still, I rise, still, I grow,

Through the storm, through the cold.

Silent roots, but strong they stay,

Reachin’ for love, won’t fade away.

(Bridge)

But deep inside, a fire glows,

A whisper soft, a heart that knows.

Spring will come, the ice will fade,

No more lost in winter’s shade.

(Final Chorus)

Still, I rise, still, I grow,

Through the storm, through the cold.

Silent roots, but deep they run,

Reaching high to touch the sun.

(Outro)

Like a cold, lonely oak,

Bearin’ weight, but never broke.

The seasons turn, the dawn will rise,

And I’ll be reachin’ for the skies.
