Just Glide by Gloria Buono-Daly (C) 2025
(Intro)
Just glide… mmm…
baadaaa … da daa da …
No care in the world…
They don’t know their beauty
White wings over blue river,
Whispers hum with the breeze…
Yet we wonder… Wonder why…
Why we feel stillness inside…
Swim, glide, and fly…
Spread wings, dance, and glide…
They can do anything…
Never tangled in choice,
Winging it, yes it does…
Just glide… glide…
(Verse 1)
They arrive without reason.
In hush of morning light,
Dancing like wind over water.
No mission, just motion—
All rhythm, reflection…
(Chorus/Hook )
No care in the world, just gliding,
No rush, no rule, Pure Jewel…
Winging it, surviving,
Shows a quieter way.
Hard to believe, but gliding…
Gliding Means more than thought…
More than knowing
More than musing…
Winging it, yes it does…
Just glide …glide…
(Verse 2)
Not knowing they stand out—
Cloud carved against green.
They don’t ask the river why it bends—
They just move… with it.
Even the seagull, out of place,
Just watches—
No need for words,
No worry in flight,
Just drifting—
Just being,
…no competing…
(Bridge)
We imagine life like swans…swans,,,
What we want,
What we feel,
Never tangled in choice
Just glide…. glide…
No need to decide…decide…
No weight to carry,
Just exist—Just glide… glide ……
Without saying a thing…
Still make the world smile...
….Make the world worthwhile…
.…Make the world smile… smile…
Smile Without saying a thing…
Ooooo...Yeah…
Swans wing their way through…
Just glide…
(Final Chorus/Hook)
No care in the world, just gliding,
Winging it, thriving,
No rush, no rule, Pure Jewel…
More than knowing… free to be…
Like swans, a world set free…
Winging it, yes it does…
Just glide… glide…
Just glide... Ooooo...
(INSTRUMENTAL FADE OUT)
Just glide... Ooooo... Ooooo...
baadaaa baadaaa baadaaa …da daa da …
baada baada baada……da daa da …
Ooooo...
(END OF SONG)
Watching a pair from our Hotel room overlooking Town Lake in Austin we had to get a video of them and later I wrote a poem… not as articulate as your song… entitled Two Swans.
While they parade like that for hours it makes one wonder if they ever eat. I really do seem carefree from all of the threats that wild birds seem to be faced with.
