Spooky Dreams
I rarely have sweet dreams
and never of those I love and cling to.
So do not ask to know if I dream of you
for if I do then we are through
or soon to be.
I’m so happy to say I’ve never once
dreamt of my three abiding loves –
My subconscious mind keeps them
away from the demons and
intruders who dare to wait and find
their way into my vulnerable
somnambulistic state.
In my chaotic world I often
kill with ease perhaps
to please my domain
of reason and order and
conscience.
I once beheaded a
total stranger and threw
his head into the grasses
content to come back or
not to retrieve it.
I did not.
Low level spirits invade
the corporeal world
and seek out those who
want only a night’s rest
then they inveigh and whack
away at things they
hate like reason and
order and peace of mind.
Oh I have done battle
with those bastards and
on their terms. So far
I’ve kicked their asses
every time.
Sometimes those things
that go bump in the night
just want to steal
your soul.

before going to bed. Good reason to think pretty, happy,
full of colour.
Popular theory's that the sleep's the time required for our
unconscious to unpack the experience from the day and transfer
it into memory. But there is a stream of "false' sensory
information and the "bothering dreams" may well be aside effect
of it.
Some dreams are better than other; spooky, scary dreams,
nightmares and even somnambulistic "trips", beyond the usual
sleepwalking to the kitchen...visits to enjoy a glass of water,
seem to be a "normal"part of coping with changes in our lives
and even a "positive" indication, that we are actively coping
with a new challenges.
But...the Hypnagagic (sleeping onset) and Hypnopompic (awaking)
states of consciousness, that include the lucid dreaming,
floating outside of human body consciously guided two-ways
communication with the unconscious mind...are fascinating me
and filled my Library with Robert A. Monroe books.
