FOLLOW THROUGH

Language was born to communicate, each of us with the other,

Using words to express our feelings, and convey wants and needs.

With action behind words, those words will thrive and grow,

But with no follow through, words remain nothing more than seeds.

Language is human thoughts put into words, their verbalization,

And those words can be articulated in thousands of foreign tongues.

But in any language, talking without follow through is worthless,

So the specific language matters not; it’s immaterial which one.

No matter the language you speak, it will have no substance

If you neglect or fail to make your words be or become true .

There should be pride and honor when your word is given,

But suffer shame or disgrace if there is no follow through.

Pledges and vows are powerful words uttered from your mouth,

But without follow through, they are weak, and of no significance.

Sought after integrity is acquired when your word is given and kept;

Only then do your words have meaning and merit importance.

Your words are purest gold when you follow through,

When others know you speak only words that are true .
