A woman's personal ordeal to get a good nights rest.

She was lying beside it again.  This was the third night in a row.  The horrible, horrible sound in her ear kept coming over and over again.  She tried to ignore it and just go to sleep but it never worked.  It continued on and on and on.  She would fall asleep when there was a lull only to be awoken again.  The slack in her daily routine was starting to be noticed.  She kept slacking off and getting behind.  She couldn’t keep this up much longer.  What should she do?  Should she tell him of her distress?  Should she share her horror?  Was it better to suffer in silence? Either way, it couldn’t last. She tossed and turned begging the dreadfulness to stop. She thought maybe she could try to get her mind on other things.  She turned on the light and picked up her book.  She read until her eyes got heavy.  She turned the light back off and got snuggled down to finally drift off to sleep.  Her eyes closed and she started to dream.  Then it came back, with a vengeance, louder and longer.  Ahahahah, she screamed out.   She couldn’t be expected to take this.  She had a life.  She had things she was supposed to be getting done.  This night time disturbance refused to let her live.  How could she be expected to meet her goals with no sleep?  This was ridiculous.  She needed to take matters into her own hands.  She was a grown woman for goodness sakes.  She didn’t need any unseen heroes.  She would be her own hero.  She got out of bed and went to find the baseball bat.  She grabbed it and then swung it repeatedly until the noise stopped for good.  With that, she went to a nice sound sleep.  The next morning, she was fresh and ready to face the day.  Half way through, the police showed up.  She had been waiting for them.  She knew that she was in trouble for her way of handling the situation.  When the questioned her, she told them the truth.

“I had too, I couldn’t take it anymore.  Who can be expected to endure that kind of trial?  Every night, snoring that wouldn’t stop.  Each night, he got worse.”

“Ma’am, you were on your honeymoon!”
