“It was dark. How did I know about not sitting under a tree?” I replied
irritably.
My head was now pounding and I wanted some painkillers and to go back
to sleep. I closed my eyes. Delinda started shaking me.
“Hey, if you go to sleep they’ll send you home.”
“Jack saw a shark when he was fishing.”
“That’s not funny. I’m serious you’ve got to try to act like your better and
promise not to go to sleep under coconut trees so you can stay on the show.”
“Listen, I would rather go home and watch how you won. I think that I’ve
had enough. I really am tired and….” I wasn’t able to finish that thought
because Lucy came in out of breath.
“You guys they want us all on the beach now. Something has happened.”
“Can’t they see I’m in no position?”
“She’s coming.”
I rolled my eyes as Delinda helped me up. The room was spinning but as
I walked some it slowed down. I still hung on to Delinda all the way to the
beach.
“Okay, that’s everyone. I hope you are okay Matty,” Todd said when we
arrived.
I nodded against my better judgment. Wait everyone wasn’t here. Felipe
was missing.
I was getting ready to tell Todd that when he said, “All right, no one panic.
The reason you all were called here was because Felipe died last night.”
He died as in dead? Many others gave out gasps.
“How did he die?” Delinda asked ever the curious one.
“We’re not sure yet but it looks like he had a heart attack.”
“Wouldn’t a heart condition turn up in his physical for the show?” John
inquired.
Todd ignored him and went on with his speech.
“We’ll be putting you all together and there will be no taping or challenges
