In 2003, again there were huge protests agains the U.S. war in Iraq. We hoped that demonstrations would stop the war, but they didn't. Looking back I recall that the U.S. dropped bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. What did that really gain for anyone? War is horrible.

Now I see another war on the Palestinian people. Some news agencies say there's a plan to drill for natural gas along the coast of Palestine. The oil and gas companies want a port there to increase their profits. This reminds me of the Native Americans who were pushed off their land because the oil/gas companies wanted to drill for oil and mine uranium. The truth is, Israel has for decades been used as a power base in the Middle East for oil/gas profits. War is the way the powerful keep power.

Now we have global warming and severe weather, all because of the burning of fossil fuels. The oil/gas corporations are making profits at the expense of all the World's people. If you held an election, who would vote for war?  I do not blame the Jewish people. Israel has been under the control of U.S. corporations seeking dominance of the global oil/gas market. 

Because of my experiences protesting war, I wrote my novel, One Pledge Unspoken. Protesting war is not new, I truly wish we didn't have to protest it again.
