Am I Dreaming While Awake? 12/30/2016 1:25:46 PM
My year of fulfilling a life long dream! In the last waning hours of 2016, I wonder if my mind is playing with my thoughts, if my wishes have taken control and placed memories there of things that my mind has longed for since I was old enough to utter the words. I remember filling my time with 'pretend stories' when young, of knowing, or believing at some point I would take 'pen in hand' and write down what my heart and thoughts whispered in my ears.
This year I have had two books published by Hartwood Publishing, The House On Sunflower Road and The Long Night Moon. They are both listed on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other sites. I also have had two book signings for both books and both books sold comparatively. WOW!
From the moment I am overwhelmed, and very, very thankful for being given the ability of being able to listen to the voices in my head, of being trusted by these voices to tell their stories. For indeed, these stories were a gift that filled my life for the last sixteen years. When the first story worried my thoughts, I began a research that lasted until the last page of the first book was finished, and when the second story began to nudge my curiosity, more research was done and the second book took shape. This past year has been spent with editing both books, setting up websites, designing business cards, promos on social media sites, book signings and now...when the year is ending, I am awed that it all happened. I am so grateful, so blessed, so humbled that my fingers slowed on the keys as I write...Thanks to any eyes that read this, know that I appreciate you with a happiness that I never thought to experience. Thanks, too, to Matthew Miller, he wrote me a note of congratulations and opened the door to my mind and it made me realize what I've been given. Happy New Year to all, Elizabeth Towles
