We have come to the end of another academic year here in Doha. The temperature is soaring to 110 degrees Centigrade every day of the week. A few more days when the gun will go off and the race to the airport will begin for the upcoming summer holidays. I look forward to the summer breezes of Munich and Paris and the tropical thunderstorms of Miami were I am home-based (it almost never rains here!). Summer means a lot of things, but especially for me, it means extra time for writing. I am finishing off a new book of essays that should be available by summer's end. It is called FEATHERS IN THE DUST: Reflections on the Human Condition. The title is based on a verse from one of the poems of Rabindranath Tagore, an Indian Nobel Prize winning poet.
"Feathers in the dust, lying lazily content, have forgotten their skies."
