Your Burden Maybe The Key To Your Purpose Driven Life 6/15/2006 8:29:42 PM
Tragedy comes to force us out of our comfort zone and into our purpose I woke up this morning, expecting this to be another normal day:work, a few phone calls, spend time with my grandson, my husband, my Destiny (dog). . . I received this note from a friend:
"To Whom It May Concern: In 2003 I was diagnosed with lung cancer. At that time the only thing I knew about cancer was that it was a deadly disease. So I had two thirds of my right lung removed to rid myself of this disease. After the operation I was advised that I needed to have Chemo and or Radiation. . . I refused to take them. I was then told that without these treatments I had maybe six months to a year to live on God's Earth".
What does it take to drive your engine? Make you get up off your butt and do something spectacular for the privilege of the life you have been given?
Oh, how an attitude changes when you are faced with a terminal illness, or tragedy. The things you thought mattered lose their luster. In life sometimes you encounter tough decisions. Those are the moments when you tap into a strength or determination that chisels out a giant.It is in that place, with the chips down, that you discover your hidden strengths and talents; and unleash the fight within.
Be careful when you feel sorry for people. They may be down but not out.
When one is faced with impossible odds, and all else has failed, most yield to that invisible source of power and life that was there all the time, but ignored.
In that moment many fall to their knees in reverence, causing an unexpected outpouring of perfect love never experienced before and in that hour a life is changed.
My friend is alive and well. He is on a mission to educate others to take advantage of all resources and alternatives available to them before they give up.
Now He his experiencing his purpose driven moment, and you can too.
