Kind Acts Can Become Contagious 7/10/2006 9:58:53 AM
Wow! I came home to a cut yard. Who did that? Was it my neighbor on the right, or my neighbor on the left? It is a mystery, that someone would take the time to do something so spectacular as to cut our yard.
It was like a drug, one act of kindness. Suddenly, I wanted to find something kind to do for someone else. I began to watch for things I could do for neighbors wherever I found myself.
Ask God, what kind act can you do today? Today was my day to go along my street and place my neighbors empty Garbage cans closer to their homes to keep the wind from blowing them into the street, causing a hazzard.
It felt good. What next? One of my neighbors has a sign out "Notary". That truck we sold last week--we needed to have some papers notarized--we had our neighbor to notarize the paperwork.
A neighbor is not just someone who lives next door to you. A neighbor can be a co-worker who sits next to you, or parks next to you, eats next to you, stands next to you, shops next to you.
Purpose today to lift a human spirit, do something kind to another. Buy a cup of coffee, pay for a lunch, place a rose on a desk, slip an encouraging note, pay a toll, pay for parking. . . the list goes on.
Change someone's life with a kind deed today. Lets infect the world with kindness.
