Day 2 of NaNoWriMo My goal is 1725 words a day with NaNo, so that I can have Thanksgiving off.
I reached 1748 words yesterday, exceeding my goal a little. Today I've written 1,723 words, bringing my TOTAL to 3,471 words in two days.
I have broken my writing into three sessions, and aim at approx. 575, give or take, words a session. For example, in my morning session I only hit the 383 mark, but then at lunch wrote 725 words.
For me, this is excellent! Being first and foremost a poet, it's so hard to exercise the fiction writer inside, I tend to think in 500 word chunks. So that's why I'm working WITH myself and breaking my writing into three manageable chunks.
I'm very happy with how things are going. The biggest challenge is keeping that internal editor away on her extended vacation to Tokyo, and to try writing in larger chunks.
