Day 9: NaNoWriMo 11/9/2006 5:49:55 PM
Well today started off very sluggish, as I had little sleep last night, my little one woke up a few times (because our dog, Sam, flaps his ears too loud!)
I was not in any sort of mood to write. I had about six cups of coffee throughout the day. I was down because even though I had 15,000 words written, other friends of mine had wordcounts of 16 - 20,000. I felt behind, even though I was not. A dear friend of mine told me that "other people's wordcounts do not diminish yours" and I am so grateful she said that. She is a very supportive person and is also doing NaNoWriMo (and won in 2004!)
Anyway, I had too much sugar today and too much coffee. That does not make for a good writing day typically. But I plowed through, and only had a few more hundred words to write when I got home.
Well, I participated in a word war with the Naperville NaNo group online in a chatroom and in 15 minutes I wrote 1,091 words, which the leader told me beat the record. So on a day where I thought I'd get nothing done, I had one of my highest wordcount days, writing 2,466 words today - so my total wordcount is up to 17,466.
