I had a great weekend and have passed the halfway mark!  25,000 words!  I went to the write-in that the Naperville region has and I got so much done there during the word wars.  (This is where a group timed writing is done).  My plan was to get at least 2,500 words written during the write-in - I got over 3,500 words written!

I never thought I was the kind of writer who could write this way, typing directly into the keyboard instead of freehand, but it turns out that I get a lot done this way. 

Now that I have more than half of the novel written, I am going to pay closer attention to the detail of the writing.  No, I am not letting my internal editor back from out of the country, but I am going to just be more aware of what I'm typing.

By the way, my internal editor actually sent me an "email" in a dream I had over the weekend.  I dreamt she sent me an email from where I've sent her on vacation (far, far away!) and she emailed me telling me that the book stinks, and I shouldn't finish it because it isn't really a "novel" anyway, it's a piece of drabble, blah, blah, blah.  At the end of the "email", she said something like, "If you revise it, I'll consider looking at it again".  I actually woke up thinking, "Ok, I'll stop writing it!"  Which is not the case.
