Looking forward, time seems like an eternity, and looking back everything seems like it happened just a moment ago.
Why is that?
I signed my Book to Print release on May 10th and was told that it would take about three weeks from that point on for it to be live. It seems like that date will never get here even though by the calender we are half way there. I guess I am like a little kid riding in the back seat of a car. "Are we there yet?"
Looking back over this past week, I wonder where did all the time go? Is it the week-end already? How can that be?
Is was Saturday just a moment ago.
I've come to the conclusion that time is an outlook.
Now I'm not talking about calender time, rather event time. In time backwards, I see the events as they happened. I have my feelings and conclusions about them. They have shaped me as to who I am today. What if I were to look at events in the future in the same way? What if I were to envision events in the future as I want them to happen, as I want them to be? Would that make them solid?
That's faith. There is a phrase in the Bible that says...treating the things that are not, as though they were...That's faith. Now I am not talking religion in the typical sense but reality.
I like Flora's outlook. Old as she was, her attitude was 'act as though you have energy, and you will get it'. She did. She lived a full life till the day she died. And had the energy to do all the things she set herself to.
Between people it's like horse training. My husband says I did that to him. There was a certain trait I wanted to see in him so I started to treat him as though he already possed that trait. He became that.
Ethel once told her foster child, "You will never amount to anything. You will turn out like your good-for-nothing mother." And you know what? The child did.
Why did these things happen? Flora, me and Ethel. By looking forward in time and declaring things that are to be and they happened.
It appears we have more power at our disposal than we realize. The question is "Are we willing to do the things that are necessary to materialize that into the physical?"
I started talking about my book so I'll continue in that vein. What must I do to bring that abstract thought into solidity? I must look forward into time and see the events that I want to see happen as though they already happened, as though they already were.
I see a lot of people coming to my book signing in Denver. I see each book that is signed generate at least 100 more books sold. Physical time between now and then will be used to build a tsunami wave of interest in my book.
