Dating and Envisioning

It all began with a topic that intrigued me. A topic which is becoming more and more prevalent as I venture along the path that has caught my attention. I have spent the last several months studying. Okay, studying more than usual and on a particular subject matter. It all began with a topic that intrigued me. A topic which is becoming more and more prevalent as I venture along the path that has caught my attention. It is what is being referred to as intention and it is of such significance, at least to me, that I may even be nearing over exposure but that is another story...
The recurring theme appears to me almost daily now. I see it in books and movies and on talk shows. It seems a lot of people are buzzing about it. For me it began nearly two years ago and it is gaining momentum. As snippets appear everywhere I particularly call attention to how it has surfaced in my dating life.
I began writing this blog to explore the world of online dating. At last blog entry, I claimed that I would explore it personally. The truth is, I did not. Well, not exactly. I was 'going to' continue to write a few blog stories about past experiences. I never got around to it. Funny how things in life run their own course. Let me explain.
The thought of getting back to this page continued and I did press on to gather additional research from people I know about their own dating experiences. However life just seemed to prevent me from devoting the time to write about any of theirs or my own. Months went by but the thought never left me. I did continue to pursue my interest in matters of intention or as others refer to it, quantum mechanics.
Toward the latter part of last year, I began to really think about what I wanted for my life, especially my love life. As I queried more and more people about their dates and experiences, it forced me to look at my own. I really didn't want to place an ad for a date. I had done that a few times and it was fun but unsuccessful in my opinion. I had not met anyone I felt any connection to. They were nice people and it was good to get out but I grew weary of the effort.
And then at the end of January, a very odd thing happened. I received an email from a man from a site I thought my profile was deleted from several months ago. At first I wasn't even willing to look at it. I was upset to discover that my profile was apparently not deleted after all. I reluctantly opened the email. I thought my purpose was to write the company to determine how this happened. But there was something about seeing his face that compelled me to look further. I went on to read his profile and I was quite drawn to it. I sent a reply.
We wrote numerous letters over the next couple of months and we grew to know each other a little more with each one. We met in person in mid March and have been dating ever since. We both concurred the circumstances surrounding our meeting were extraordinary. He was near canceling his account when my email appeared. I was not supposed to be on the site anymore. As it turns out, neither of us emailed the other originally. It was done randomly by the site host. And yet, due to my most recent study topic, I question what is considered random these days.
I have become more of a believer in that which I have been studying in light of this and a few other events. As I consider myself a discerning individual, I find myself asking the paramount question. Is it really that simple? Can we in fact, create the life we want, simply by envisioning it and believing that we are worthy enough to have it, exactly as we wish it to be? It almost sounds too simplistic to be real, doesn't it? And yet this is exactly what happened to me. I decided what I wanted and I am living that wish right now. I find this to be my most profound revelation so far this year. I feel truly blessed to have been granted this particular wish.
I suppose I may choose not to continue to write much more about online dating. I do believe it is quite important to know what you are looking for. At the very least, use dating to further define what it might be. I can uphold the idea that you will not find it if you do not know what it is. Dating can be quite exhausting and often disappointing. But there is that chance that you will meet with your desire; if you have a dream and believe in it and yourself.

I do think I may venture into the realm of writing about envisioning instead. I still find this so intriguing and even more so in light of my recent occurrence.
