While preparing for my workshop for the Florida Writers Association I began to wonder why I received so many comments, stares, and questions because my book wasn't published by a traditional publisher. 

For twenty years I received nothing but rejection letters but I kept writing.  When I received information that I could get my book published and without paying a penny--I jumped to it.  After all, I'm not getting any younger and I had reached my goal of having my book in the printed form for people to read.  Talk about a high.

With modern technology, the publishing industry has changed.  Why haven't we?  Why are we so quick to snob our noses at those that select another method for having their book published.  Unlike some I don't have the drive to self-publish (the true self-publish where you do everything) but when I look at Zane who not only self-published but is one of the most famous for her books who knows? 

I think that if you want your book published then consider all alternatives, do your research, and make an informed decision.
