What do you write in a Blog? Shall I talk about the books I'm working on? Not much point in that, it will probably be months or even a year or so before they hit the shops.

Maybe I can mention that I'm looking for a reliable artist who can work fast and produce really good work for no money. That's the great thing about the publishing industry; there are some parts that currently generate little or no profit, so the creators are paid in copy and kudos - so many copies of their work and the kudos that goes with being published. Are you an artist who fancies the challenge? I've written a series of fantasy/horror stories with a definite humour bias that will be published in the middle of next year by Rainfall books. Rainfall want an illustration for each story, eight in all plus a prologue and an epilogue, and there isn't much time left to get them done. Two of the stories have already won awards, one was described as "the perfect short story", so the quality is there and where there's quality, fate will take a hand... eventually.

Maybe I should wax lyrical about the fireworks going off all around the town - by the boxful as local youths ignite them inside telephone boxes, blowing the roofs sky high. Or maybe I should celebrate the many fires being started in the neighbourhood by our local pyromaniac? Or maybe I'll just go and find a quiet lane to walk the dogs.
