Only four months to go

The final book in my epic fantasy series will be published in four months time.
I began to think about it back in the late 1990s. I wrote a book, The Sundered World, which was like a prequel, and sold more than 10,000 copies. But I wasn't happy because I had wanted to start with the children and I was dissuaded to make it the adult Alan Duval returning to the world he had explored and adventured in as a teenager. People were outraged when I failed to continue the series, and, frankly, I don't blame them. I sent a copy of The Sundered World to the eminent Iain M Banks and he lifted a central idea out of it for his subsequent novel, Look to Windward. I had introduced the idea of a sentient "Temple Ship" into the narrative of The Sundered World, published in 1999, and Iain made a big thing of sentient spaceships, he called "behemothaurs" in his book, Look to Windward, which was published the following year. He even used the expression "temple ship" on page 284 of the Orion hardcover.
He had a slightly wicked sense of humour and I interpreted this as him acknowledging I had given him the idea for the behemothaur.
I didn't mind. People lift ideas all the time. I took it as a compliment.
From 1999 to the present day, I have, off and on, been working on what became my four book epic fantasy series, The Three Powers, which will end with the publication of book 4, The Return of the Arinn, on November 5, just four months from now.
One or two grumbled that the books were long. No longer than the books of Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. My advice, if anybody wants to take it, is to lose oneself in each book. Read them without hurry. Enjoy the strangeness of an alien world while it lasts.
