How non-related articles can help with book sales
Hello friends,
we all write - a lot - that's why we're here. Today, I'd like to share a little idea with you. I am certain, I'm not the first one who has done this, but still would like to get this to your attention: As a writer, of course I like nothing more than to get the word out about my novel. I compose articles and stories for magazines and submit them, hoping they pick them up. Well, just yesterday, I received word from a localy published triathlon magazine here in Utah, that they will run my story I send them, just a few days earlier.
The story is called 'Determination' and talks about Determination as a character trade. And how it is a part of me in whatever I do. (Sports, Career, Live) I pointed out, that only through Determination I was able to win the first tri I ever participated in. Further, I mentioned that I was determined to finish my book in the short amount of time I did. You can read a slitely different version of the article here http://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?AuthorID=65501&id=32209
The magazine chose to print my article because it talks out of an athletes point of view about a very 'close to home' subject. In addition, my ego gets stroked (and maybe even my sales) because I got to mention my book in the process.
