At least me and my CD made it to iTunes! 8/9/2008 10:17:14 AM
I'm thrilled! It's been a struggle and its not like I'll get any promotion, but if you search MICHAEL GUY on iTunes, my CD AugustOceanOverture will come up! Apparently, since June 30th (unknown to me) my piano jazz/new age CD August Ocean Overture has been listed under pop jazz on iTunes. I submitted it to CDbaby's digital distribution in June. I am thrilled, although it will be tough going getting anyone to know it's there. Even I didn't download iTunes software until just last week. Than I decided to try it out and see if I was on there.
One good thing is iTunes & CDbaby ARE THE BEST PLACES TO DOWNLOAD MUSIC mp3's. As I've been posting so many of my tracks around the net. It is really true that the quality of iTunes ripping process is superior. Also CDbaby has an equally good download quality and it a little cheaper per track.
As most people who used it know, all tracks at iTunes are .99 cents no matter what. I think CDbaby's mp3 downloads are about .65 cents. The GOOD THING about CDBABY is this: you can hear 2:00 of every track for free to decide what tracks you like or if you want to buy the CD.
NOW for a NOTICE: DO NOT DOWNLOAD from my Amazon mp3 page (not likely many will) BUT I tested AMAZON'S new mp3 downloads and they are defective. The quality is not as good as iTunes and some of their mp3 tracks had skips.
IT WAS NOT MY CD TRACKS. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY FINE ON THE OTHER SITES. Amazon needs to check their quality control of whoever does their ripping process!!
I will remove the links to amazon's mp3 page BUT it is perfectly good to buy the physical CD there.
USE iTunes or CDbaby for downloads.
