My Music Tracks Place in the Jazz Charts at ARISTOPIA.com 12/12/2008 6:32:55 PM
JazzDANCEimage has placed #12 and SeaBreeze in G (piano solo) has placed #19 in the Independent Artists Jazz Charts at Aristopia.com since I signed on back in June. Well the stats claim I have over 1100 "views" of my profile and music page at the internet Music Promotion site: ARISTOPIA.com. Since I signed on with the Digital release of my CD AUGUST OCEAN OVERTURE on CDbaby in June I set up a "free" basic profile there that allows you only 3 mp3 tracks in the player (a good idea to limit to 3 I think).
That doesn't mean everyone stopped to listen, but it seems a lot of views for someone in my unknown position and without a lot of internet power to promote my music. They are interested in selling a full promotional music package for $100 - frankly it won't happen with me soon. If I ever make $100 with my music on the internet, I'm more likely to buy multi-track recording software for my computer (I don't have multi-track capability in my home studio!) - So, I'm a real piano soloist for sure! $100 is way out of reach.
Yet, I feel placing in the TOP TWENTY of the INDEPENDENT JAZZ ARTISTS anywhere is good. It shows that people are curious about my music, either the titles are gabbing them or the first nano-second sound bytes are pulling them in to listen. YET, strangely(!) I haven't noticed a single comment left by the many listeners who are also probably fellow musicians - And there has been absolutely no effect as far as I can tell on digital downloads (sold or free!) and certainly I have sold very few physical CDs
So where is it all getting me? I don't know, I'm not out gigging now but I'd really would like to get some individual track download sales - at least on my iTunes or PayPlay page. Doesn't seem to be happening by the stats I see at my spreadsheet at CDbaby.
A tough road ahead to recognition and I only want my music heard. Still, as long as I "actually" don't starve to death or suffer malnutrition (a possibility lately, being on disability and living in a remote area) - Well, I digress
Still, it confirms I will release my 2nd CD, IN MEMORY ONLY at this ARISTOPIA site as well as Amazon and CDbaby...
