Well, it seems like the "best laid plans" (and words) "of mice and men" are sometimes, not what the universal powers that be, want us to write (or is that my own paranoia coming through?). I had begun to write a profound synopsis of my feelings, thoughts, and pre-emptory evaluations of my life, when, by pressing one button, all five paragraphs suddenly and permanently disappeared.
So, I humbly begin again.
It seems that unconsciously and consciously directed, our lives can be the direct result of our mental energies, directing the actual actions, that form our present activities, thus creating both our past and our future while it subtlety engages our present.
By looking back over my postings on this site in my articles, poems, and blogs, I see where, by not intentionally laying out the roadmap for my life, I have done just that in expounding upon the past memories, present struggles or accomplishments, and the current wishes, thoughts, or perceptions to my present and future realities.
We all hear how it is important to write down our goals to make them concrete and foremost in our thoughts, deeds, actions, and finally our reality. But I never really took this beyond the mental notation stage. Now, by summarizing the attitudes displayed in my works, I realize the immense truth in this practice. Why haven't I believed enough to try this in my own life before? I have directed and instructed, counseled and educated others both professionally and personally for them to write down their goals in order to achieve them, but I have not taken the interest in my own life, enough to direct it for myself, as I have directed others to do for themselves.
That is rather hypocritical (although unconsciously so), but even more, sad that I did not believe my own words or give my own thoughts credibility to myself. I did not hold myself accountable to be responsible for the directed vision of my life. I was too busy directing and being responsible for the lives of others.
I tell myself now, intellectually with feeling, "Let Go! Just Let Go of the defeatist, negative, defensive, unrealistic, unattainable control of other's lives, thoughts, actions." "It is time you took direct, active, conscious, directed-awareness and actions toward achieving your goals, and applying your own educated, aware, reality-oriented principles and methods to your own, personal, intimate life." (You see how I automatically go to the third person?) Ah hah!
Looking back over my writings here alone, I have discovered some things about myself that have been the proverbial "two-by-four up side the head" reality that everyone needs to gain self-wisdom (that is, wisdom about yourself, not from yourself), that is that epiphany that makes the difference for the lasting image, quality and quantity, of lifestyle and legacy that we all desire to achieve and define us.
In a nutshell, it is true, so very true, if we not only mentalize, spiritualize, but concretely actualize (in writing, reading, verbalizing, actionizing) our definite, detailed, goals and dreams, they will definitely materialize into the very specific wishes we command. It has happened to me (negative and positive), without my being cognitively engaged in the process.
So by now, being cognitively engaged in my own processes, I feel strongly that I can achieve my dreams, I can direct my own life, I can achieve the goals I actively acquire into my own "total being"; dreaming them, writing them down in detail, breathing them in every breath, verbalizing them in every word; spiritualizing them in every prayer and outreach into the universal spirit pool, and psychologically engulfing them in every mood and attitude, while concretely presenting them in my everyday present awareness; I will actualize and realize not only their essence, but their very presence in my present and future for as long as I am actively engaged in forming my life legacy.
Today, is truly the first day of the rest of my life, and today and tomorrow can be exactly what I design and choose it to be! Choose for yourself, what you will design for the rest of your life! Be a winner rather than a loser. Be a great example of good and right, courage, and uprightness. Be the you that you want others to choose for themselves, for their team. You really don't have to join the army to "Be All That You Can Be". You can do it with just an army of ONE, under ONE! Do it! You can! YOU CAN! Just engage yourself with the right tools and power, (the ones God granted you), and YOU CAN BE ALL THAT YOU DESIRE! Just make sure that your desires are calculated in the right direction, or you will achieve all that you desire.
