I Was Selected For Chicken Soup for the Soul 3/4/2005 12:23:22 PM
As you all know, I told you I wanted to tell you about my fantastic news but needed to wait until I got confirmation. The news came today and it was a YES! I skipped up the driveway and did a little shout. The neighbors thought I was nuts but I didn't care...I AM!
In 2002 I submitted a story to Chicken Soup for the Soul. In 2004, I signed a contract with them, although nothing was confirmed. My story, Hidden Wings, WAS selected out of hundreds of entries for inclusion in the upcoming book, Chicken Soup For the Fathers/Daughters Soul due for release in April 2005.
My story was rated in the top percentile out of hundreds of submissions. They select 150 preliminary stories and then have a panel to select the best 100 stories for inclusion.
I am estatic to know my story will be read all over the world, (in ALL BRICK AND MORTAR book stores...WalMart included) along with my bio, my book titles and web site.
It has been a long process and patience has paid off for me. Well, folks, as I said...it may not be the most exciting news but it is for me. I am ESTATIC! By the way, on my Whisper My Name book, the back cover includes Hidden Wings as a short story publication...that's how much faith I had in it.
