Some large chain merchants who rely on "Black Friday" for the Christmas shoppers to keep them out of "Red Friday" are now using "Holiday Greetings" as their slogan.We have many holidays throughout the year and those holidays do not bring in the bulk of sales.Why then, if the Friday after Thanksgiving is considered a Christmas shopping day for the "Black Friday" do they insist on rejecting the most blessed time of year?If all shoppers refused to enter those stores whose slogan begins with Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas, they fast would lose customers.
Now the Christmas tree is in jeopardy of losing its meaning because some people harbor resentment of Christians celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.Sure, the tree is only a symbol but why are we allowing other religions to dictate how we celebrate?Political correctness has become a hideous little monster in that no one can do or think without first asking permission, in order not to offend anyone.Balderdash! Do you not think it offends me for those people to tell me or other Christians how to celebrate the birth of Christ?It's a double standard any way you slice it.Are we heading toward communism in being told what we can do or not do, what we can say or not say or how we can celebrate the birth of Christ?If that is the case, I will not be politically correct and I will stand my ground. I will put up a Christmas tree and decorate it with Christmas lights. Underneath my Christmas tree will be Christmas gifts and I will say Merry Christmas until those that do not understand…understands Christmas begins with CHRIST.
