Gita, my three year old American Shorthair cat was given a different kind of cat food than he was used to, as he seemed to be bored with the stuff I had been feeding him. So, I bought a can of, Friskies Seafood Supreme, to try him with. I opened the can in his presence, but instead of coming forward to smell and then meow for the first helping, as he used to do when he liked the food he had been getting, he sniffed and backed away. I paid no attention, thinking that he probably wasn't hungry, scooped some into his dish, and placed it on that part of the kitchen floor reserved just for his dishes.
He walked slowly over to it, sniffed, and then sniffed again unbelievingly. He then looked up at me, back down at the dish, turned his back to it, pawed backward as he would in his litter box to cover up his waste, and walked distainfully away!

And some people think animals can't communicate!
