Today's (05/12/09) Los Angeles Times reports that a 23-year-old mother and her boyfriend (aged 37)have been booked on suspicion of child abuse/accessory to murder and suspicion of murder, respectively, in the death-by-torture of the mother's two-year-old toddler.
Question: How many more innocent babies, toddlers, and children must suffer a tortured death before our "civilized" society musters the moral fiber to institute systematic safeguards against unsuitable (as in sicko) breeding-aged adults from inflicting further harm upon defenseless souls? The time is now for enacting a pyschological screening process prior to granting would-be parents the privilege to reproduce. And to those who cry,"Big brother is watching!" I say, "Finally!"
