A correction and some thoughts...website advice, anyone? In my last blog I made a typing mistake...the title of Boz Scaggs' amusing song is 'Georgia' and it is a rousing tune! Moreover, I forgot to mention the man can sing rock! His Jump Street shows it and I love it!
About my books...when I decided to publish the historicals anew, I knew it would be a lot of work to format the text files that were, after all, ten years old and had seen floppies! Taking on three full manuscripts in a relatively short time put a lot of strain on my eyes...I had to read at the computer so I could do the corrections on the spot.
That brings me to one concern: eyes. Mine are severely strained. Twenty years at the PC is a long time and I can't count how many hours I spent looking at computer screens...not just for writing but sundry other PC work and some fun, as well.
So I advise you strongly not to overdo it...the price is high.
And that bit of advice is rather funny because I won't be heeding it myself. Having said yes to publication, I've got to follow through and do the promoting...oh man!
I have yet to build a personal website...seems one can't get by without one. When I lost all my AOL pages, I looked into it but couldn't find a new place where to build...I don't have a clue how it works specifically.
Did you do it? Would you write an article about it?
I know of GoDaddy and other places, but when I read their descriptions I didn't know whether I could actually upload say a webpage I made in Windows and Word...etc...
If I don't manage this, I'll have to stick with a number of writers websites...if you can, please advise...
