Calling All Cell Phones

The Silencer
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could connect with Jesus the way we connect with/to our Cell phones or what I affectionately call "jail phones? Why do I say that? We are prisoners to our cell phones day and night. We fail to communicate with one another, husband and wife, children and parents, friend to friend, each in their respective corner on their cell phone. There was a time when patients in the waiting room would introduce themselves and strike up a conversation. Not now, it ain't happening because of that darned "jail phone." They are even responsible for God's sermons falling on deaf ears in the house of worship. Not everyone is guilty but many are. The puts all of us in jail. Lord help us?
I realize that cell phones are an important part of our culture today. The are entertaining and keep us in touch with those not in our immediate vicinity. But what about those who are in our vicinity? They deserve out attention, too.
