Again on New Years Day the Friends of Yarmouth Council on Aging will present their annual Polar Plunge.  This is a growing tradition that draws hundreds of people of all ages at high noon to Smugglers Beach on Bass River to take a dip in the chilly waters on Nantucket Sound.... and they do this for a very good reason... to raise money to support programs and activities at the Yarmouth Senior Center.

     Over 3000 local residents have benefited from the center by attending
programs and activities or sought assistanc for themselves or loved one. The needs continue to increase, however, as does a commitment tp provide much needed services that allow older adults to remain independent, healthy and active.

      Last year hundreds took the plunge in this wild and chilly adventure and hundreds more stood on the shore to cheer them in.  It was a FANTASTIC event.

     The financial support to this wet,wild and wacky, loads-of-fun adventure is greatly appreciated by the the intergenerational team involved in the plunge as welll as those who benefit from it.

     The Friends of Yarmouth Council on Aging is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization located at the Yarmouth Senior Center - 528 Forest Road - W. Yarmouth, MA 02673-2842.  All donations are tax deductable to the extent allowed by law.
