A little more than 1 million died in the US of A. Most of those with "pre-existing conditions that would have led to death sooner rather than later. Perhaps 3 million, less than predicted, would have died without vaccines or the draconian measures.
We certainly have stepped backward by the way we've handled the epidemic. But it's probably not as bad as it would've been had no one taken vaccines that saved a lot of lives and a lot more misery for those caught it anyway.
