"Your soft tears caress me do mine caress you? / Whatever is to come now may God bless you / You who have proven the truth of love to me"
Transcendental Sonnet #1197: Run Away With Me
for Silke
I finally got out of my freezing room Out of my door to the freezing out-of-doors A peregrination from gloom into gloom And every raindrop is a tear of yours I feel less alone as a face in a crowd Of people awaiting our impending doom
Your soft tears caress me do mine caress you? Whatever is to come now may God bless you You who have proven the truth of love to me You who have saved my life and save it again Each time I hear your voice you who heal my pain You who are my origin and destiny
My love turn back come home to my heart somehow Turn back from death and run away with me now
What an imploration! I don't know if it's true literally in this instance here, (I know poets sometimes don't mean what their readers think they mean), but unless it comes at the end of an unsalvageable union, most women adore open declarations and few men do it. Very romantic/poetic.
Oh but that she could and you now as long as the heart beats and holds her dear she can run away with you to a distant star. Perhaps with a butterfly on its new pair of wings. The best Steve.
Blending Southern Gothic mystery romance, fantasy, theater, dance, music, and flashes of humor, tells the story of a pair of lovers in two separate time periods who find themselves battling an evil fifty years apart.

Far reaching into the heart of human emotion Steve.
