Man Power

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

Monday, August 16, 2010

Dressed face
unshaved untrimmed and wild
Brimstone covered raw knuckles
peeled off pride unrelentless
Man no mercy
you have bent to no shame
though justified.
Keep on walking treading on broken glass
unjustly so
just un-right man

Empathy blows bubbles
through airy thoughts
May that justice have served
what it did not dish out
Walk on Man no mercy
society turns the other cheek
To keep unscathed
what cannot be touched

Elisabeth your poem is a marvelous work my friend. The philosophy of being faithful to one's values regardless of fingers being pointed unjustly is a mighty weapon of determination. May peace love and joy be with you. Jon Michael

Your verses have given me pause for reflection, Elisabeth; and that's a good thing. Love and best wishes,
