Friends are there for life
they wipe you tears when you cry
they offer a shoulder to lean on
when no one else is around.

Friends come in all shapes, sizes and colors
attached to certain eccentricities and oddities.
These anomalies are quite allright
because you have them as well
and friendship is unconditial;
your friends accept you as you are
so why shouldn't you extend that same courtesy?

On any given day all you need to do
is reach for a phone and there
is someone on the other end to comfort you.

Don't judge your friend after your own actions
because though similar you may be
no two humans function the same in mind matters.

Recognize an outstretched hand for what it is;
an opportunity to share on a two-way street
the system in itself is pure genious
it's quid pro quo of minds and hearts
beyond the material plane.

Take it for what it is, do not soil this action
with thoughts of suspicion.
When friendship is new it's as fragile as an infant,
tender to your newborn relationship with care
or it might desert you.
