Eyes like Diamonds

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

Tuesday, August 5, 2014

 With charcoal hair
and eyes like diamonds
Flying fast on
raven wings
The warm wind whispers
of hidden sins
Dark at night
forbidden passions linger

At night I lay waiting
for the touch of my
outstretched hand
Ruffled feathers feel so soft
as silk
against my skin
In the back of my mind
at the base of my spine
shock waves linger
and I shiver

I have given freely and
without regret
I stop for a minute
surprised to see
that my fortress is gone
And it went without
the slightest nudge
It crumbled at the
first sight of you

Now tell me how
do I reach into yours?

A very erotic and passionate wish. I'm intrigued with your hand. Loving oneself is paramount to loving another.

You have recalled and shared the experience and its meaning very well through your verses, Elisabeth. Love and best wishes,

I think the answer to that question can best be answered by allowing the time honored way of being available and quietly allowing your desire to flourish and your smile should be all that is needed to put two and two together. Enjoyed the poem.
