Fairytale

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

Thursday, October 7, 2021

Sing my name,
voice carried over
distant waters.

Echo the past,
the present,
the future.
Like they are
one and the same.

Sing of the mythical
creature beyond lines.
Sing of the essence behind,
the essence of dreamed up times.

Sing me a lullaby
of the future you see.
The future of me.
Like I know nothing of it
and you do it so well.

Sing me the song of me,
sing about all you see.

Each of us divine and interpret visions differently and you captured a feeling of how someone else makes you feel special...
Well done,

There something in a song that raises our spirits.

Almost every day now she asks me, "Ron, sing me a song." So, I comply to my best ability.

Your thoughts allow the reader various interpretations. Someone who cares enough about you to speak light, honesty, and truth into your life is rare anymore. Seems we often look to our future, perhaps because the present doesn't satisfy us. Our ideal, whatever it may be, seems (for many) to lie further beyond. Thank you for sharing. Regards. rlc
