Not a poet

 Maybe I'm not as articulated
not in rhyme or reason.
Maybe I just follow the seasons,
making it reason.
Resonate my soul,
put on display
in joyful play with words.
See whatever comes out
of this head of mine.
I sit down to write and
words pour from
my inner core,.

It's not meant to be scholared
or painted in perfect colours.
Just me on a piece of paper.
Not intellectual,
carefully selected.

It started a beautiful autum day.
The colours was breathtaking,
highlighted by the sun.
So bright it took my breath away.

And then... Well..
I had this assignment in school.
Write a poem, My teacher said.
And so...
That was it..

Splattering colours of bright orange,
and happy yellow.
Warm sun, shining it's light;
illuminating words.
Ravaging the pages,
in crude crimson overflowing
pages.
Joyfully patterned in
ink on paper.

Perfectly okay. I'm not a poet either. I don't strive to write the greatest poem or write in any special poetic form, but just sit down and start to write, like you, with what just comes up at the moment from my inner being.

So write on poet, and I will read and comment on what you write.

Upon reading your verses, I am reminded that I am of the same "school" of writing as you are. I have never thought of myself as a "poet" or "writer." I have never referred to myself as such although others have labelled me as such. Nicely expressed with meaning, Elisabeth. Love, peace, and blessings to you,

Regis. 🙏💙🌳💚🌲

How do we define a poet...I say it is someone who writes word pictures from the heart through an imaginative mind...one who touches emotions, anger, sadness, pain, curiosity, laughter... that is a poet's job...you do it well,
