Open-mindedness is a rare 
and beautiful thing, not to
take for granted even in
your next of kin.

The capacity to understand
that we don't all fit into
the same mold, is quite
a challenge to find in
people truth be told.

You can spend night and
day searching for that 
sparkle of soothing light,
to glimmer past the
walls put up by fright.

It is the most common
knowledge of philosophy,
sociology and psykiatry
and love.

To know that we are not
filled to the brim with
traits siphoned from
the clouds 
above.

Not one person is made
a carbon copy of the next,
we don't blend and fade
away.

Bending different ways,
colored outside the lines,
we do not fit into the box
to wich we are confined.

Yet each one of us
make up a perfect
piece of this puzzle
called humankind.

Even the most rigid
or cruel
mind you can find,
provide a lesson to
be learned,
one more stamp
of empathy to be earned.
